Amahl and the Night Visitors,
Coming January 2025
ABOUT THE OPERA
Amahl and the Night Visitors is a short opera in English about three kings following a star toward Bethlehem. They stop for the night at the home of Amahl, a young disabled shepherd who lives with his widowed mother.
Performances will be in the Franklin area January 12 and 19, 2025. Rehearsals will be weeks of December 2-14 and January 3-11.
ABOUT THE ROLE
For the role of Amahl, we are looking for a child soprano aged 8-13, any gender, who has experience with children’s choir and can portray a boy of around 8-12 years of age.
HOW TO AUDITION
Please submit a video of the child singing two songs in a choral or classical style in English with accompaniment. Video submissions accepted until November 1, 2024 at 6PM. Send videos or links to info@franklinlightopera.org. Include in your email your child’s name, your name, your phone number, and a few details about your child’s experience with music and performing. Call backs will be in-person on November 9-10, 2024.
